An exciting opportunity has become available for a Research Fellow to join the Action Lab within the Department of Human Centred Computing (HCC) at Monash University. This is an opportunity to join Australia’s leading data visualisation and interaction design research department. Action Lab is the Faculty of Information Technology’s centre of expertise for action-based research in communities and digital technologies.
Reporting to the Chief Investigator, the Research Fellow will engage in interaction design research across Action Lab’s collaborations within Monash University and with local, national and international non-government organisations. The scope of applications includes the design and evaluation of digital mental health screening and advice tools, participatory granting platforms and the development of new forms of participatory communications.
In this role, the successful candidate will conduct research, contribute to the production of conference and seminar papers and publications from that research, develop a limited amount of research-related material for teaching or other purposes and provide advice to postgraduate students.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a PhD in a discipline relevant to community development or significant work experience in the community development sector, significant track record of copywriting and designing project documents and demonstrable experience in design thinking and/or co-design methods. You will also have experience working with multicultural organisations or with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
