Our Journey:

Monash Health National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Program supports people who have a disability, to help them in their daily life, participate in the community and reach their personal goals. The NDIS program comprises of support coordination, allied health services for both children and Adults. The NDIS Team operates out of several Monash Health Community sites including Springvale, Cranbourne, Pakenham, within participant’s homes as well as providing supports within community facilities.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 2 Speech Therapist to join our Monash Health Community NDIS program, working with adult participants. This position is part time, 3 days a week and is available to commence immediately, however your start date can be negotiated.

A Day in the Life:

The NDIS Speech Pathologist is responsible for delivering NDIS services to some teenage and adult participants in an efficient, effective, and flexible manner. The NDIS Speech Therapist will achieve this by:

  • Providing Speech Therapy supports to participants’ that will enable them to build their independence, skills, and social and community participation
  • Ensuring the implementation of the participant’s plans in line with the achievement of their goals, objectives and aspirations
  • Committing to working collaboratively and continuously build knowledge about the NDIS for the benefit of the participant and the community.

About You:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated productivity including initiative, good problem-solving skills, judgement and attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively

What you need:

  • Successfully completed an accredited Australian entry level speech pathology qualification or successfully completed an Overseas Qualification Assessment with Speech Pathology Australia within the previous two years
  • Membership as a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Current or willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check, as per the NDIS Practice Standards for those who work in risk assessed roles with people with disabilities
  • Completion of the NDIS Commission Orientation Module
  • Current Victorian driver’s license
