Working in Healthcare has never been more important or meaningful.
Our general medical wards at Clayton, Ward 41 and Ward 42, both provide holistic care to General Medicine patients and can accommodate up to 40 beds on each ward. Patients come to us with a wide variety of acute medical problems and we work with our large multidisciplinary team to ensure they can be safely discharged to a variety of settings including home, other health and aged care services.
Our general medical wards are fast paced units where our nurses gain experience across a broad range of clinical presentations. Our patients are often acutely unwell, with complex health concerns, and as a team we pride ourselves on the high quality nursing care we are able to provide.
Now is an exciting time to join us in Gen Med, with a number of new initiatives beginning on our wards. With our ongoing focus on health and wellbeing for our patients as well as our amazing team, we are introducing music and pet therapy and we have a newly designed retreat space for our nurses to relax in.
We have ongoing full and part time opportunities to work across a 24/7 rotating roster.
You are a Registered Nurse who has had some experience working in an acute setting, and you are looking to further develop your clinical skills within a highly acute ward. You are confident in your assessment skills and you know how to effectively manage a deteriorating patient while remaining calm in all situations.
You have a positive, can do attitude and your passion for nursing shines through when you are caring for your patients. Your compassion is evident in the way you approach your role and you enjoying working as part of a big team.
We will provide a fast paced and ever changing environment that is dedicated to safe best practice. Our team are passionate about patient centred care and patient advocacy, and you will surrounded by a truly supportive leadership team and skilled staff and mentors who will support your continued development.
Furthermore, the General Medicine Program offers:
