The Early in Life Mental Health Services (ELMHS) provides assessment and treatment for infants, children, adolescents, young people and their families. We work with the 0-18 age group in the Southern Region. We provide a comprehensive assessment service and a range of treatment options including inpatient treatment in times of crisis, community (outpatient) treatment, group programs, family therapy, and specialist services.
We work with families in addressing a number of complex issues that families may be experiencing including school refusal, parent/child relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma related issues, self-harm, suicidal thinking, eating disorders, neuro developmental presentations and psychosis.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to take up a permanent part-time position at 0.8 EFT (four days per week,) within our infant & child stream.
The Core Community Treatment Team provides short to medium term treatment for infants, children, adolescents and their families in the City of Casey, City of Greater Dandenong, Shire of Cardinia and the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area. In this role you will work in an Occupational Therapy discipline specific role in the infant and child stream with a multidisciplinary team led by consultant psychiatrists to provide clinic based mental health assessment, formulation and treatment to complex and acute young people. We work collaboratively with families, schools and other agencies to create identified areas for change and work strongly from a relational and systemic framework.
No two days will be the same as you work within an established, friendly and supportive team environment, working closely together to care for clients (patients) along with providing opportunities for staff development and growth in areas that staff are passionate about. Taking a team focus on delivery of care, our primary focus is on a patient’s safe journey through treatment.
