Monash Heart is a leading unified cross-site cardiology service of Monash Health located at Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital and at the newest premier site, Victorian Heart Hospital.

Cardiac Intensive Care

Australian’s first ever cardiac Intensive Cardiac Care Unit with cardiothoracic care, complex cardiac failure patients and nurse led EMCO service. Newly built state-of-the-art 16 bed service to deliver a modern model of excellence in care to complex cardiac patients supported by a team of highly skilled critical care nurses and multidisciplinary cardiac team.

A standalone specialist cardiac facility, the Victorian Heart Hospital is uniquely positioned to make a meaningful impact in the delivery of cardiac care and a lasting impact on cardiovascular health.

Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)

We have hired exceptional critical care nurses with new CCRN roles available to support our growth as we expand the only dedicated cardiac ICU. The Victorian Heart Hospital is the best place to advance a career in cardiac critical care within a positive, highly engaging culture and inspiring supportive multidisciplinary leadership and medical team.

New opportunities for CCRN’s with a formal critical care qualification in search of further professional development opportunities including gaining competency in courses including ECMO, CALS and other newly developed courses unique to the Victorian Heart Hospital. As a CCRN you will be fully supported to expand your clinical expertise whether it be writing research papers or pursuing education pathways with opportunities for growth including career progression, nurse practitioner and research.

Full & Part Time permanent positions working across a 24/7 rotating roster.

About You

As an accomplished CCRN you are driven to further develop your critical care expertise as a specialist cardiac nurse. Naturally curious with a thirst for learning, you seek all opportunities to master your critical care especially in Cardiothoracic care and a nurse led ECMO service. You thrive working collaboratively as part of a wider highly skilled multidisciplinary team integrating clinical cardiology services, research and education to create a centre of excellence to positively impact patients’ lives.

To ensure your success in this role, you will have following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Postgraduate Certificate or higher in Critical Care Nursing (Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Emergency or Interventional Cardiology) required
  • Current clinical critical care experience in acute coronary, emergency or intensive care
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
  • Current AHPRA registration and eligibility to work in Australia
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills coupled with delivering holistic patient centred cardiac care
