General Services

The General Services department at the Victorian Heart Hospital supports all areas and includes Patient Services Assistant, Environment Services and Porter teams. These teams are customer focused and take personal pride in delivering an outstanding service.

Environmental Services Assistant - New Positions

Opportunity for Environmental Services Assistants to work across all departments at the heart hospital and a valued team member of wider Monash Health Support Services team.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Environmental cleaning including bathroom, toilet and in specialised areas
  • Waste collection, linen transportation and manual handling
  • Internal and external detailed cleaning
  • Project and unscheduled ad-hoc cleaning
  • A “Can Do” attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
  • A positive attitude and drive to deliver strong customer service
  • Genuine interest in being part of the care team providing exceptional services
  • Effective organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Flexible approach to working in all areas as required
  • Able to work unsupervised and can also take direction

New whole positions now available:

  • Position 1: Monday to Friday 15:00-23:30
  • Position 2: Monday to Friday 14:30-23:00
  • Position 3: Monday to Thursday 15:00-23:30
  • Position 4: Monday to Thursday 23:00-07:00 (floors)

About You:

You are excited to work at the brand new heart hospital, have a strong customer focus and take personal pride in ensuring our state-of-the-art heart hospital is presented well and cleaned according to the required standards.

To ensure your success in this role, you will have the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Certificate III in Cleaning Operations (Desirable)
  • Understanding of infection prevention cleaning processes within a healthcare environment
  • A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service
  • Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
  • Great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
