The Dietetics Team is an integral part of a wider interdisciplinary team within Monash Health. This unique opportunity exists within the Mental Health stream.

Mental Health operates across all sites providing inpatient and community based care at community clinics and in client’s homes. They work closely with families and carers to provide best care to consumers. Clayton also has a short term residential rehabilitation unit (PARCS) and Community Care Unit (CCU) offering low stream rehabilitation located in East Bentleigh.

A Day in the Life:

This exciting Grade 2 Dietitian position operates across the Clayton community mental health programs and is located at the new Mental Health Hub in Oakleigh. This position will provide in-reach nutrition group education for patient in the Inpatient Unit (P Block) at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton prior to discharge to community mental health teams and other services. The Dietitian will collaborate with a number of other health professionals and provide evidence based, nutritional assessments and interventions. You will be working autonomously as the sole Dietitian within a MDT with supervision and support from a senior Dietitian within the Adult Mental Health program.

This is a full time ongoing position with professional supervision from a senior Dietitian within Monash Health.

What you need:

  • Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
  • Eligible for membership with Dietitians Australia (DA) and be eligible to work as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).
  • Demonstrated experience (more than 2 years post-graduation preferred)
