As a Monash Health hospital, the Victorian Heart Hospital features a unique, holistic model of care with first ever cardiac services to provide tailored cardiovascular care for all Victorians, and specialised life-saving procedures for our community. Combining world-class clinical care, research, education and training, all in the same facility, to provide efficient and timely modern cardiac care including inpatient and outpatient services, intensive care, cardiac emergency, surgical theatres, cardiac catheterisation labs, diagnostic imaging, cardiac clinics, rehabilitation, pathology and pharmacy. The heart hospital is architecturally designed to enhance the patient experience in an open, warm setting with natural light and access to landscaped outdoor spaces to positively impact clinical outcomes.

Acute Cardiac Care Unit

The acute Cardiac Care Unit is a custom-built unit providing evidence based holistic care to Victorian cardiac patients. Every bed across 7A and 7B inpatient units are equipped with state of the art monitoring with full cardiac functionality to provide high dependency acute care for patients. Our innovative cardiovascular service will support a universal model of patient care across the entire stay. Patients will benefit from a new, holistic, model of cardiac care where the care will be bought to the patient rather than the patient being moved ot the care.

Registered Nurses

The Victorian Heart Hospital is truly the best place for a Cardiac Care Registered Nurse to advance their clinical expertise and further education. As an acute cardiac care nurse, you’ll be joining a welcoming, dynamic and talented multidisciplinary team. You’ll be fully supported to expand your clinical expertise in specialities including cardiology and cardiac surgery, writing research papers or pursuing education pathways via Transition to Specialty Practice (TSP), Postgraduate studies or career progression such as Nurse Practitioner. The opportunities for growth and progression are endless.

What You Need:

Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you bring the following skills, experience and knowledge:

• Current or previous cardiac or cardiothoracic nursing experience in an acute/critical care setting highly sought
• Post graduate certificate or diploma in critical care/cardiac nursing highly desirable
• Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
• Current AHPRA registration and eligibility to work in Australia
• Outstanding communication and time management skills coupled with delivering evidence based holistic patient centred cardiac care
