Inpatient services provided at Moorabbin Hospital include medical oncology and a range of elective surgical services including gynaecology, gynae-oncology, breast services, orthopaedics, urology, head and neck and ENT.

About Ward 1

Since its decommissioning as an inpatient ward in late 2018, Ward 1 has been used for a range or outpatient procedural services. We will now be re-establishing Ward 1 as a 28 bed inpatient General Medicine Unit to provide holistic care for patients admitted with a range of general medical conditions through to discharge home, or to another facility such as aged care services.

About Ward 1 Role

The Associate Nurse Manager offers a unique opportunity to support the Nurse Manager to establish a new team. To safely deliver care to our patients, we are recruiting Associate Nurse Managers with a range of experience. The successful candidates will bring their established ANM experience and their demonstrated skills in providing excellent patient care in an acute setting.

There are various opportunities available:

  • part time permanent, working across a rotating shift basis 24/7 - 0.4 EFT up to Full Time
  • permanent night duty, working across a rotating shift basis - 0.4 EFT up to Full Time

About You

Ideally you are an accomplished Associate Nurse Manager, or you have been developing your management and leadership skills; either way, you are ready to take this next step in your career. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients.

You can demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop skills required within a general medical setting. With a caring and engaging manner, you will contribute to a multidisciplinary team to provide the best of patient and family centred care.

You can also demonstrate:

  • commitment to a leadership and mentoring role
  • dedication to safe best practice and quality care
  • a commitment to delivering excellent patient centred care and patient advocacy
  • enthusiasm, compassion and proven ability to work collaboratively
  • excited to be accountable for and manage specific portfolios in our relentless pursuit of excellence

  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Current AHPRA registration
