About our Subacute Services at Monash Health

Kingston Centre, located in Cheltenham, is a stand-alone subacute site within Victoria’s largest public health service, Monash Health. Monash Health employs over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.

Our Subacute Rehabilitation Wards at Kingston Centre are comprised of 3 Units, all of whom specialise in a range of services including, but not limited to, Rehabilitation, Movement Disorders, Neurological Rehabilitation, including post-acute stroke, spinal injuries and progressive conditions. Sub Specialities include Pain Management (Ketamine Infusions) and Peritoneal Dialysis for the rehabilitation patient.

About The Role

With an approach that is goal orientated and individualised for every consumer you will provide support and education to achieve the maximum potential in function and independence for our consumers. You will be responsible for managing complex discharge planning, promoting functional independence and restorative care along with the full scope of Nursing care. With this, brings its own unique challenges as our consumers possess complex medical issues on top of multiple comorbidities.

We are currently looking to expand our Rehabilitation Service with experienced Registered Nurses in both Full Time and Part Time capacity with both ongoing and fixed term opportunities. We look for flexibility with all Nursing staff needing to be available AM, PM and Night Shift on a 7 day rotational roster.

About You

Communication skills and teamwork are extremely important in this role as you will be working in a diverse team. You show a highly developed emotional intelligence within the care and support you provide to our consumers. You have compassion towards our consumers, with excellent bedside manners and a can-do approach.

With your caring and engaging manner, acknowledging that this is a different kind of nursing, your speciality training and experience will see you make a positive difference to our consumers’ and their family’s lives.

We are committed to growing our workforce and can offer a multitude of online training packages, in-services and study leave to ensure you meet your full potential. This includes training in functional independence measure (FIM), specific deteriorating patient module and the Foundations of Nursing care. All training is delivered alongside a professional development framework to support and guide growth. What you need:

  • Demonstrated subacute/acute experience post Grad Year
  • Post Graduate studies in a relatable field, highly desirable but not essential
  • Current employee Working with Children’s Check
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Australian working rights
