About Mental Health Program at Monash Health

Monash Health Mental Health Services provides a range of community, bed-based and specialist services covering the Casey, Cardinia, Greater Dandenong, Kingston and Monash LGAs – a population of nearly one million. It has an operational budget of $130 million and employs approximately 820 EFT, representing over 1000 staff.

The Program has a number of clinical units including three adult units (Casey, Dandenong and Clayton), an Early in Life Mental Health Service (comprising infant, child and adolescent and youth services), Psychology and Specialist Services (PsySS), Drug and Alcohol service and Gender Dysphoria Clinic. Southern Synergy supports the Mental Health Programs with specialist research innovations. The program has Five PARCS (Prevention and Recover Care Services) which includes a specialist Women’s only PARCs, an Extended Care PARCs and Youth PARCs. The clinical service is supported by an aligned operational structure to enable the provision of high quality service through the creation of clinical-operational partnerships to support staff, patients, carers and their families, and a strong professional structure that supports the governance of health professional workforce.

About Casey Area Mental Health Service at Monash Health

The Casey Area Mental Health Service is led by an innovative and supportive leadership team seeking to provide an innovative and recovery based model of mental health care that will continue to develop with our growing community in the South East growth corridor. Teams are based in both inpatient and community sites offering collaborative care to clients experiencing mental health difficulties within our area.

About the Role

The role of ACIS Manager (previously Cranbourne and Pakenham CATT/MH HITH) is expected to provide both clinical and organisational oversight to the Cranbourne and Pakenham teams (previously CATT/Mental Health Hospital in the Home) both currently located at Casey Hospital. This multidisciplinary team provides acute and assertive community based mental health assessment and treatment for clients living in the Casey and Cardinia catchment area. The team also works closely with the Emergency Psychiatric Team (EPS) - with staff currently rotating through the EPS for planned periods of time.

The successful applicant will be expected to lead the team in partnership with the lead Psychiatrist in each area in achieving the mandated Key Performance Indicators within their financial targets and to provide clear and honest feedback to the Casey Leadership team.

Ongoing support will be provided by the Community Mental Health Services Manager in combination with any discipline specific supports required and in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services and Unit Head Psychiatrist.

About You

We are seeking a candidate with effective leadership, management and clinical skill to work with a supportive Senior Leadership team in supporting and continuing to develop this acute mental health service. You will demonstrate the ability to provide strong and effective clinical leadership in developing along with the local management team a service capable of providing acute recovery based care in a targeted manner to members of the Casey and Cardinia communities.

You will possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to support team development whilst guiding staff in both the provision of quality care within the financial targets and achieving the mandated Key Performance Indicators including contact hours.

You will develop a strong partnership with the Clinical Psychiatrist working with the team and support staff as a strong clinical team to provide a strong and evidence based model of care focussed on Recovery principles.
