About the role

Trinity Hill is a newly developed communal accommodation and training facility for young people to develop independent living skills and engage in employment, education and training. Trinity Hill offers supported housing for people aged 16 to 25. As the Training Coordinator, you will assess and respond to the needs of tenants by providing a service focused on employment, training and education. This is an exciting new position where you will play a key role in maximising opportunities for Tasmania's vulnerable youth.

Duties

  • Support tenants with vocational and employment goal setting
  • Support tenants to stay engaged or re-engage in education
  • Link tenants to services that can assist in seeking and maintaining employment
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs
  • Source and maintain working relationship with a wide network of educational, training or employment providers and networks to address tenants' vocational barriers to employment and training and become "job ready"
  • Actively support Mission Australia's purpose and values

Qualifications & experience

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Youth Work and/or Training and Education
  • Proven experience in supporting disadvantaged young people to achieve positive outcomes
  • Highly developed communication and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to develop and build strong working relationships  with individuals, providers, networks and community to assist vulnerable youth
  • Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Valid Working with Children Check
