About the role

The Government is establishing a new service to assist young people aged 15-21 years who are not in employment or education. The Transition to Work service will provide intensive, pre-employment support to improve the Work readiness of young people and to help them into work (including Apprenticeships or Traineeships) or education. The service will have a strong focus on helping young people to understand what is expected in the workplace and to develop the skills, attitudes and behaviours expected by Employers.

The Employee Advocate is responsible for building relationships with employers, community providers and job seekers to support the growth of the TTW contract by developing community networks to grow caseloads, place job seekers into sustainable employment and providing post placement support to support job seekers achieve all milestones.

Duties

  • Identify business opportunities in the areas of job seeker placements, work experience & training
  • Work with local employers to identify clients employment needs
  • Undertake sales & marketing activities; cold calling, client visits & reverse marketing of clients
  • Provide on the job support to employers and implement appropriate retention strategies
  • Assist participants in the transition to work & education by maintaining contact with them and their employer.

Qualifications & experience

  • Experience in account management & developing business relationships with external / internal stakeholders
  • Experience in employment services or Job Services Australia is advantageous
  • Tertiary qualifications in youth, employment services, career counselling, health, community services
  • Experience in working with vulnerable people / and or young people
  • Current Driver's Licence / Flexibility to travel across a region as required
  • Availability to interview week commencing 21st March 2016
  • Ability to commence early to mid-April 2016

As part of our Employment screening process you will be required to undertake a National criminal history check.
