About the role

This role is responsible for providing support to Aboriginal families through holistic and strengths based case management work. The program supports families who may be dealing with vulnerabilities in their life which could include but not limited to homelessness, mental health, financial, school retention and lack of social supports. Duties

  • Work with Aboriginal families through collaborative and integrated case planning
  • Provide families with support through home visits, parenting support programs,  and supporting families to access quality specialist services.
  • Provide practical support managing situational crises which may involve sexual, physical or emotional abuse, mental health issues, alcohol and other drug issues, domestic violence and other related situations.
  • Assist families to develop skills to achieve their goals
  • Work with Family and Community Services to ensure the program complies with legislation and contracts

Qualifications & experience

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in the human services industry
  • Experience working with aboriginal families
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering intensive and holistic case management to families
  • Demonstrated expertise working from a trauma informed care approach
  • Demonstrated experience in working as a case manager with vulnerable people
  • High level verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to network and develop effective working relationships at all levels in the community.
  • Current Senior First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Current drivers license

As part of our Employment screening process you will be required to undertake a National criminal history check.
