About the role

As the Area Manager, reporting to the State Director you will lead, manage and drive a medium sized Service Delivery team. You will be directly responsible for overseeing the performance and contract delivery of our diverse services across the State, ensuring our contractual obligations and compliance requirements are met at all times. Key responsibilities also include workforce planning and resource management for our services across the State as well as providing strong leadership, mentoring and coaching to front-line Service Delivery Program Managers. You will also  proactively and professionally represent Mission Australia within your designated Area and play a direct role in building a presence with government, funders and corporate stakeholders identified as a priority in that Area.

Duties

  • People Management & Performance – lead, motivate & manage a dynamic & diverse team of front-line staff
  • Service Contract Performance – oversee, monitor & support the State Leader in contract negotiations through the provision of management information on skills & resource capacity for the Area
  • Operational Development – lead the service delivery, performance of operations & contract delivery in defined areas across Victoria
  • Finance Management & Administration – ensure compliance with budgetary & expenditure targets
  • Relationship Management – develop & build strong relationships with key stakeholders including partnering with Community Services
  • Service Development – ensure legislative & contractual compliance and required service performance, at all times

Qualifications & experience

  • Previous success in managing, leading & driving Community Service Programs & teams across a defined geographic Area
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications combined with proven experience in a similar management role within Community Services
  • Strong people leadership skills coupled with the ability to engage with key stakeholders to deliver a high performing & compliant service, at all times
  • Excellent time management & relationship building skills to successfully achieve required business & contract outcomes
  • Proactively promote Work, Health & Safety practises & ensure procedures are in place to mitigate risks & ensure the health & safety of workers, clients and visitors.
