About the role

The Allied Health service offers a range of specialist supports and clinical services that aim to maximise recovery outcomes for clients with complex mental health and dual disabilities in the community. The multidisciplinary Allied Health team delivers holistic assertive outreach, one-to-one supports, online and telehealth services to clients, families and carers in a person-centred, integrated stepped care framework that targets individual needs.

We are seeking a self-motivated, compassionate Allied Health Clinician - Provisional Psychologist for a permanent, full time or part time opportunity to work remotely within a team in the Melbourne metropolitan area. As a new graduate or experienced clinician, you will provide quality clinical assessments, flexible therapeutic interventions, diagnosis, expert consultation and specialist services including capacity building to clients with severe and complex mental ill health and dual disabilities. Psychologists will deliver in person, outreach, online or telehealth interventions using strengths-based approaches to support clients to achieve recovery goals and improve their wellbeing. 

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver flexible therapeutic support services including assessments, brief interventions, treatment planning, evaluations and education in line with professional, ethical and National Standards.
  • Provide mental health interventions, allied health therapy assessments (functional and sensory), and short-term intervention methods of demonstrated effectiveness that are person-centred and evidence-based, in line with the proposed model of care.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated and integrated response to the client’s recovery goals. 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Psychology or other health related field and hold current registration with AHPRA or equivalent accreditation.
  • Expertise in working with clients with mental health issues, dual disability issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers is desirable.
  • Capability to implement therapeutic, recovery-oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.
  • Understanding of the NDIS, Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders. 

What we Offer

  • Salary packaging up to $15,899 p.a. allows you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to cover living expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, child care, car leasing expenses etc.).
