Meadow Heights Education Centre (MHEC) is a community-based Registered Training Organization in operation for 30 years in Meadow Heights and surrounding suburbs. MHEC provides Vocational Education and Training in the areas of School-based Education Support, Business, Information Technology, Beauty Services and English as an Additional Language as well as a range of Skill sets and short, pre-accredited courses.

Currently with three main sites, MHEC is looking for a dynamic and values-driven Chief Executive Officer to lead us into the next stage of growth and impact. Strategic growth expectations encompass an increase in the number of students, range of courses and services offered and the development of new partnerships. The role provides leadership for all aspects of MHEC’s operations, with an emphasis on strategic goals, future expansion, sustainability and innovation.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will be an experienced educational leader who has proven acumen in education, business and community development. They will be an exceptional and visionary leader committed to ensuring that MHEC strategically delivers a sector-leading educational experience for students, employees and the wider community. The Chief Executive Officer’s leadership spans across education, business, industry, government; Local, State and Commonwealth.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field with substantial experience in community development and/ or education and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate programs, policies and procedures, analyse and prioritise workflows and review work systems.
  • Demonstrated ability in preparing correspondence, reports, tenders, financial reports and funding submissions.
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate, negotiate and work with a community-based Board of Directors.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and form partnerships with other key stakeholders in the field of community development and education.
  • Knowledge of obtaining government grants
  • Ability to market the organisation’s programs
