The position

As the Manager, Community Partnerships & Population Programs at ACON, you will play a pivotal role in leading our community engagement initiatives within the broader NSW HIV and LGBTIQ health promotion sector. This position is crucial to driving the success of ACON's services, ensuring cultural appropriateness and inclusivity across priority populations including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities. We are seeking a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of ACON's strategic context and a proven track record in strategic thinking, business development, and partnership management.

About you

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

• Significant experience in developing and maintaining important partnerships, preferably in a community or health sector context.
• High-level understanding and experience in community development, health promotion, and program evaluation, preferably within a community organisation context.
• Capacity for strategic thinking, creativity, and driving improvements.
• Outstanding skills in project and financial management, human resources, and planning.
• Proven leadership in managing teams and volunteers, including performance planning, coaching, and team functioning.
• Superior interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with expertise in culturally appropriate liaison at all levels.
• Proven understanding of current developments in HIV and sexual health, LGBTIQ health, epidemiology, and research, particularly focused on priority populations as identified by NSW Health and other sectorial partners.
• Possession of relevant qualifications in social science, health promotion, adult education, community development, or a related field.
• Holds a current NSW Driver's Licence.
