Mercy Place Ballarat has recently opened in September. We are seeking Care Companions to provide exceptional daily care, supporting the needs of residents to live healthy, enriched and meaningful lives within a household setting.
Mercy Place Ballarat offers small household living – a select number of residents living together in each of our homes – designed and built to feel just like home. Home cooked meals, the privacy of real home spaces, personal laundry, but with the security and peace-of-mind of help on hand when residents need it.
Homes are connected to a village square with shops, where residents can walk safely, share coffee or enjoy time out with family and friends.
Reporting to the Household Operations Manager, and caring for just the small group of residents in your household, you’ll get to know your residents and their families very well and take pride in delivering exceptional personalised care according to their needs, to create a true sense of home.
As a Care Companion you will undertake home making activities such as preparing and cooking meals, cleaning, laundry, and general household tasks. You will work together with your colleagues to create an environment where residents retain a level of activity and independence, and are able to participate in a variety of clubs and events according to their own interests and wishes. Care Companions will undertake day-to-day care and resident support, including some personal assistance such as showering where required.
A great Care Companion will be highly personable, organised, flexible, and passionate about delivering the highest level of care and service to Ballarat’s elderly residents. We are inviting applicants with experience working in an aged care environment (who hold a Certificate III or above in Individualised Support), as well as applicants who are keen to become Care Companions and can demonstrate the characteristics and skills we’re seeking from other areas of experience. You may have been a home maker yourself in charge of a household, or worked in a care or hospitality environment. You will be highly empathetic, a great team player, and a person who gets things done.
