Marrickville Legal Centre is a highly respected community legal centre providing free legal and related services to disadvantaged people across Inner Western & Southern Sydney, and New South Wales through our Youth Legal Service and Strata Collective Sales Advocacy Service.

We seek a part-time Family Lawyer to work at our Centre providing legal services to our clients in family law matters (including care and protection matters) with a focus on assisting people who have experienced family violence. This is a dynamic role in which the Family Lawyer will be involved in activities including supervising legal advice clinics and participating in legally assisted family dispute resolution, in addition to providing legal advice, representation and community legal education. The role will primarily be based at the Centre’s offices in Marrickville, although may involve some travel to outreach locations across the Marrickville Legal Centre catchment area. This role will involve supervising a night-time advice clinic from 6pm until 9pm on Thursday.

The ideal candidate will have experience in family law, the ability to work with vulnerable clients including those who have experienced family violence, and a commitment to social justice.

This is a part-time role for 28 hours per week, for an initial period of six months.

Salary commensurate with experience, and flexible working conditions offered.
