Market Forces is an environmental finance campaigning project and affiliate of Friends of the Earth Australia. We advocate to shift finance and investment away from activities that harm the environment and into the protection and enhancement of the environment.

Position Title: Communications and social media support volunteer

Location: Melbourne

Grade: Volunteer

Time commitment: 2-3 days per week for three months, with a view to an ongoing commitment. Potential, based on Market Forces income and longer-term requirements, to make the position partly or fully waged beyond the initial three months.

Position reports to: Digital Campaigner

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about environmental issues and is motivated by the desire to create positive change for the environment from the financial sector
• Has exceptional communication skills
• Thrives in a busy environment
• Has pre-existing skills in either:
  • Social media management and audience development
  • Graphic design
  • Video production and editing
• Wants to develop their skillsets in a workplace environment
• Has some training and/or experience in website publishing

Summary of key tasks and duties:

• Assist with the management of Market Forces’ social media accounts, including the development and delivery of promotions.
• Produce regular content for use on Market Forces’ website and social media platforms.
• Publish content on the Market Forces website
