The Opportunity
An exciting and rewarding opportunity exists to work with the Maribyrnong City Council's Early Years Team as the Maribyrnong Best Start Program Leader.
This position is funded via the Department of Education and Training (DET) to deliver the Maribyrnong Best Start Program in partnership with local services.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery and oversight of the Maribyrnong Best Start Program in line with the Department of Education and Training (DET) Guidelines
- Establishing and supporting effective partnerships between a range of government and services from the early years, family support and the health sectors
- Enabling and supporting a collaborative approach in a range of activities with internal and external stakeholders utilising an inclusive manner that engages a range of differing levels and agencies
- Facilitating improvement teams, project groups and participating in other local networks to identify emerging issues, trends and research opportunities
- Driving a continuous improvement approach that is focused on clear evaluation methods that supports the development of future actions and is in line with the Improvement Science approach of the Best Start Program
About You
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications in children's services, community development or a related human / social sciences discipline.
- A strong commitment and proven ability in utilising partnership development skills to support the buy in and ownership of actions by a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in utilising analytical and conceptual skills to build a solution based approach to complex situations.
- An understanding of the contemporary context and experiences of children and families and demonstrated ability to develop appropriate responses, particularly in relation to the community of the City of Maribyrnong.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic thinking into day to day activities.
