This role is based at Mansfield in North-East Victoria, just over 2 hours’ drive from Melbourne. Mansfield supports a population of approximately 8,500 people and offers excellent medical, educational, cultural, retail and professional facilities. Tourism, outdoor adventure, agriculture, wine production and lifestyle living are key growth industries in this region.

Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to provide a comprehensive range of services for vulnerable children (from pre-birth up to 17 years old) and their families to promote children’s safety, stability and health development.

Responsibilities include:

Provide a professional active engagement, case work and counselling service to children and families, using a combination of in office, in the home and community support.

• Ensure an educative role by imparting parenting skills and knowledge through role modeling, information and guidance.
• Maintain clear referral and case work systems to enable the unit to identify and respond to families in need.
• Initiate and implement community education programs and provide information of other community services to encourage participation by clients including family support information to schools, community groups.
• Contribute to the development of administrative systems and procedures in respect of service delivery.
• Carry out a wide range of administrative duties including collection and collation of relevant data, performance reports, statistical returns and monthly reports including the maintenance of an accurate, accessible and up to date client database.

Remuneration will be based on Band 6 classification of the Mansfield Shire Council Enterprise Agreement 2016.
