Council’s Leisure & Cultural Services Branch is seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the position of Senior Youth Case Manager – Navigator Program – R2280.

Position Objectives

The officer will be responsible for:

• Delivering services and outcomes for disengaged young people aged 12 -17 years as described in the Navigator Program guidelines
• Providing active outreach, case management to young people in the Navigator Program
• Providing mentoring, guidance, and support to a small team of youth case managers
• Providing case management to young people that assists them to remain engaged or reengage with education and make informed choices about their education, employment, and training options
• Providing information and referral for young people and their families which may include one-to-one assistance, group assistance, advocacy and/or referrals to external supports and specialist service
• Implementing key strategies that result in young people being reengaged in education
• Actively collaborating with the Youth Engagement Team to implement and apply procedures, processes, and strategies to engage young people in a variety of activities and programs to assist reengagement.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

• A tertiary qualification and registration in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience and skills in leading small teams to deliver outcomes
• Demonstrated experience providing individual, outreach case management, empowering young people to set their own goals and supporting them to achieve these.
• Demonstrated experience working effectively with education providers to reengage young people
• Experience in facilitating groups for young people and/or their families
• Current Drivers Licence
• Current Working with Children’s Check, or the ability to obtain one
• A satisfactory Police Records Check, or the ability to obtain one

Salary and Conditions

The position is classified within Band 6 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $85,983.04 to $93,722.72 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
