We are seeking a passionate community development professional with high level interpersonal skills and strong emotional intelligence to join our dynamic Community House Team.

This role will focus on delivery of the Community Reading Room functions and services with a high emphasis on customer service, IT support and building strong community relationships.

The Position:

The position is responsible to the Community House Manager for the following objectives:

• To provide the service delivery of the Community Reading Room
• To provide an excellent service experience to all patrons
• To provide one on one IT support to community
• To facilitate community programs such as our bookclub
• To build and maintain strong positive relationships with community.
• To maintain the website, e-newsletter and flyers for Community House and Reading Room programs

Key Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated experience working directly with community members building relationships, and the ability to ensure the Reading Room reflects the needs of our community.
• Demonstrated high level customer service skills

• Demonstration of self-directing and being an effective team player
• Sound judgement and decision-making skills – eg conflict resolution
• Excellent Computer Skills including experience with online tools such as websites, mailchimp, Canva, etc.
• Working with Children Check
• Police Check

Knowledge

Experience within the Community Sector required.
