Multicultural Centre for Women's Health is recruiting for 1 senior PVAW Project Officer to implement a 12 months project funded by Family Safety Victoria (FSV).

The Senior PVAW Project Officer will implement the Better Access to Family Violence Services for Migrant Women project. The role involves the coordination of PVAW community awareness sessions and the development and delivery of capacity building activities for multicultural organisations that have received funding through the FSV Working Together grant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and coordinate the delivery of at least 50 in-language family violence sessions in targeted areas in Victoria
  • Update and tailor education resource materials for the in-language family violence sessions
  • Consult and engage with multicultural, ethno-specific, migrant women-led organisations in targeted LGAs
  • Work collaboratively with the training program to design and develop at least 4 capacity building activities (workshops and / or training) targeting grants recipients and based on identified needs
  • Lead and facilitate the delivery of the capacity building sessions
  • Monitor project budgets
  • Assist in monitoring & evaluation activities and prepare project reports for the funding body
  • Conduct communication activities relating to the Better Access to Family Violence Services for Migrant Women project

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Applied understanding of gender equality and the prevention of violence against women from an intersectional feminist perspective
  • At least 4 years of experience in designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating complex projects involving several stakeholders
  • At least 2 years of experience in facilitating capacity building activities and / or delivering training
  • Facilitation, communication, negotiation and liaison experience with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders of varying backgrounds
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and tailoring capacity building activities (workshops, training, Community of Practices)
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills, including the ability to produce a range of documentation for a broad range of audiences
  • Computer literacy

Highly Desirable

  • Experience working with migrant and refugee communities on PVAW and gender equity
  • Fluency in a language other than English
  • Victorian Drivers Licence
