Welcome to Lutheran Care. We are an energetic, forward thinking and values driven faith based not for profit organisation, providing support to people who need it most. Current programs include emergency relief, financial counselling, family support and education, foster care, housing and family shelter, homelessness services, and refugee services.
Our Foster Care Service (FCS) is designed to provide family-based foster care services in the SA Metropolitan North, South, West, and East, the Adelaide Hills, the Barossa and the Murray/Mallee regions. Our Specialist Care Program offers trauma and attachment informed specialist family-based care to children and young people with complex needs, who require a higher level of care than generalist foster care.
We have an outstanding opportunity for a Foster Care Case Worker on a full-time basis, whose focus it is to empower our team with high-level support to ensure we deliver positive outcomes for our foster carers and children in care. In this role, you will provide assessment, training, support and advocacy for foster carers to achieve highly successful placements.
While the position is office based, travel for regular home visits with foster carers and to other locations for intra and interagency meetings is required.
Lutheran Care is committed to providing a child-safe environment therefore you will require a valid DHS Working With Children Check and a current Safe Environments for Children & Young People certificate. You must also be able to produce evidence of up to date Covid-19 vaccination record (or valid exemption will be required).
You are also required to hold a current and unrestricted South Australian Drivers Licence and possess a registered roadworthy vehicle available for work use (employees reimbursed for work travel).
Lutheran Care values all its staff, students and volunteers and ensure they are well supported through paid maternity and paternity leave, an Employee Assistance Program, a free and confidential counselling service, access to internal and external training opportunities, an annual staff conference and professional development days, annual staff/volunteer celebrations and an innovative and caring culture.
It is a requirement of employment that you are up to date with all Covid-19 vaccinations.
