Lifeline WA provides all Western Australians experiencing a personal crisis or thinking about suicide with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.
Our 13 11 14 service is a nationally-routed crisis support number, available every day of the year, from any location in Australia. It is available to anyone - regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
Somewhere in Australia there is a new call to Lifeline every 32 seconds. Last year, more than 47,000 Western Australians contacted us for support via the 13 11 14 service. Many were after advice or self-help information for friends and family. Others were reaching out for someone to listen to their concerns. Typically, callers in crisis find that painful changes or problems are increasing their distress and overwhelming their capacity to cope.
DBTeen is a dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) informed program delivered in a Primary Care environment and is funded by the WA Primary Health Alliance. It offers skills training for young people aged 14-18 who are experiencing difficulties with emotional regulation. The program is delivered in multifamily groups where carers develop the same skills alongside their teens. Skills groups run for 12 weeks and consist of 3-hour sessions that will run on Saturdays from 9.30am-12.30pm across Term 1 & 2, 2020.
We are currently recruiting for Group Lead Clinicians.
Please note Group Clinicians must be have the capacity to attend an initial half-day training session as well as work evenings and weekend hours.
