About the role

Joining our practice support team on a permanent full-time basis in Melbourne, the practice leader will support the operational teams to improve client outcomes by developing and supporting the implementation of NDIS Quality and Safeguarding frameworks.

You will be actively involved in providing case management type support to clients with disability living in supported independent living, coaching and mentoring staff in best practice principles and supporting the behavioural support team in the implementation of effective strategies to reduce restrictive practices in residential houses.

This role has flexibility to work from home in Melbourne. However, requires regular travel across all regions of Melbourne (in particular North East Melbourne) and so, candidates will need to be locally based to be considered.  

Key responsibilities

  • Work with service delivery teams to promote and implement evidence based best practices to achieve positive outcomes for participants
  • In partnership with Area Management, ensure compliance with NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, relevant legislation, service standards and LWB policy and procedures
  • In collaboration with operations teams undertake strength-based assessments to develop person centred development plans focusing on positive quality goals and outcomes to meet client’s holistic needs.
  • Provide advice and practical assistance to Regional, Operation Managers and team members on the application and implementation of legislation and standards and liaise and interact with external stakeholder groups
  • Provide training, on-the-job coaching and mentoring to staff, to assist with skill and practice development

Required skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Services or Social Sciences
  • Experience in the clinical assessment, case management, planning, delivery, and evaluation of client support services in the Disability, Aged Care or Mental Health sectors.
  • In depth knowledge of the NDIS and working with people with disability
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems to improve services through the provision of expert advice, support, coaching, mentoring and training to managers and staff
  • Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel within designated area to ensure equitable support of Operational teams

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
