About the Role

Life Without Barriers has been selected by the Victorian Government to operate disability accommodation and respite services, known as Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Short Term Accommodation and Assistance (STAA) currently managed by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. To ensure the transfer of the services to Life Without Barriers is a smooth and successful experience for participants, staff and families involved, a number of positions are now available in the transfer project.

Join our national Health, Safety and Environment team in this twelve month maximum term contract, full time Injury Management Advisor role based in our Canterbury office. Support and partner with our Victorian Services operations to provide advice, support and assistance to the organisation and to ill / injured employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination of Injury Management and Return to Work for 1200 employees at over 100 sites predominately in Melbourne’s inner East
  • Assist in identification of suitable duties to assist injured workers at work in line with medical restrictions provided by treating providers
  • Ensure that rehabilitation and return to work plans are developed with all relevant stakeholders
  • Attend relevant claims review meetings with stakeholders
  • Driving a focus on early intervention in the management of work and non-work related injury and illness
  • Adopting strong relationships and lines of communication with injured workers, their representatives, the Client Services team together with Life Without Barriers Injury management Team and the relevant insurer

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Return to Work and Injury Management
  • Knowledge of Workers Compensation and Injury Management legislative requirements
  • Completion of regulatory approved/endorsed Return to Work Co-ordinator training 
  • Proven experience and ability to engage with key stakeholders including treating practitioners, injured employees and their representatives, insurers and operational management

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
