About the role
This is a six month maximum term contract on a full time basis in our Newcastle Head Office. Join and lead an established team where you will focus on ensuring accounting systems, procedures and processes are contemporary, efficient and enable compliance to internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a Financial Accounting team to achieve business plan outcomes
- Partner with Corporate Services Business Partners to provide accurate and timely periodic financial statements
- Ensure all general ledger balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled and substantiated to ensure compliance with accounting principles
- Monitor, review and manage fixed asset register
- Lead the Financial Accounting team and work with the broad Corporate Services & Finance team to prepare financial information for submission to external bodies
- Prepare periodic management and statutory financial reports
- Support the Financial Controller to provide financial reporting for Executive, Finance & Audit committee and Board
- Engage with stakeholders to design, build and provide reports of relevant business information
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualified
- Demonstrated experience managing a team of qualified Accountants
- Experience as a Financial Accountant and working with FBT
- An interest and experience in process improvement
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
