About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Disability Support Worker as you will be working with key clients in our programs. You will need to have experience in managing behaviours of concern and a strong background in Disability Support Work
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to clients in line with their needs and manage individual plans of the service users
- Increase the client’s skills through independence, personal growth and development through the provision of active support and their enhanced participation as a valued member of their community
- Implement development programs and identify and support learning opportunities
- Assist in the delivery of programs that facilitate the client’s development of social networks and inclusion in community activities.
- Consistently establish rapport and collaborate effectively with service users and their families to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
Skills & Experience
- Certificate III in Community Welfare or similar
- A current Senior First Aid Certificate.
- A current unrestricted Driver Licence.
- Competent computer experience
- A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities.
- Ability to work various shifts including sleepover & active nights throughout the week
- Prior knowledge and/or experience working in disability care
- Experience working with people with challenging behaviours and high needs
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
