About the Role

Provide person-centred active support to people with disabilities living in Supported Independent Living homes in various suburbs across the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. The assistance you will be required to provide will differ based on the individual needs of the people we support, however, experience with personal care, manual handling, and experience with behaviours of concern will be highly regarded.

We have part time and casual positions available across various suburbs of Eastern Sydney including Bondi Junction, Matraville, Roseberry, Chifley, Kensington, and Mascot. The successful candidates will be required to work flexibly across a 24/7 roster and pick up a range of short and long hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day care (including personal care) and support
  • Community access and transport
  • Maintain and monitor Person Centred Plans
  • Track and document an individual’s progress through thorough record-keeping
  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with the people we support and their families to establish positive relationships

Skills & Experience

  • Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Current Provide First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Prior experience in the industry supporting people with behaviours of concern and/or relevant qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Commitment to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Please note: To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
