About the role

We are currently seeking Disability Support Workers to work on casual basis with the potential to move into Permanent Part Time. Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster in addition to sleep overs and active overnights is required. Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment across our Supported Independent Living, Community and Facility programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow person-centred support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
• Participate in community activities and encourage people in your care to perform daily living tasks
• Track and document progress through thorough record-keeping
• Build and maintain positive relationships with people in your care and their families
• Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster in addition to sleep overs and active overnights is required

Skills & Experience

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• A current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disabilities
• The ability to develop a positive relationship with service users and to support their Individual Personal Plan
• Certificate IV in Disability is highly regarded

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process
