Join our South Sydney team within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) Homes in Carlton, Caringbah & Arncliffe, where you will work directly with people in their own homes. You will be required to work a range of shifts, including weekends. These positions require personal care, manual handling and experience working with people with disabilities. Casual hourly rate from $38 per hour.

About the role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability.

Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day care (including personal care) and supervision
  • Provide direct quality support to people with disabilities in line with their specific support needs, including administering medication and manual handling
  • Follow person-centred support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
  • Participate in community activities
  • Documenting & Progress Note keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Sound computer, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to client support plans and complete documentation
  • Certificate IV in Disability highly regarded

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Screening.

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
