We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers.

About the role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability. Clients will include adults and children with high medical needs, challenging behaviours, physical and intellectual disabilities, mental health issues and aged care.

Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment during their daily activities.

Please note – you must be prepared to travel to remote communities in and around Derby and Fitzroy Crossing. Also required to work various shifts throughout the week and weekend, some positions may include active nights/Sleepovers. Permanent part-time roles will be guaranteed a minimum of 10 hours per week.

  • Promote and assist Clients to achieve goals identified in Person Centred Plans.
  • Assist Clients to develop independence and community networks.
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with Clients, families and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and be a productive member of the team.
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to adapt and be creative within role.
  • Complete mandatory documentation.  

Skills & Experience

  • Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • Certificate III Community Welfare, Disability or similar – Or willingness to obtain
  • Provide Current First Aid Certificate (can be completed prior to commencing employment)
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  • Strong Computer literacy skills
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Ability to work autonomously 

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check prior to offer of employment.
