About the Role

We are searching for an extraordinary individual to be our new Community Engagement Lead. The Community Engagement Lead will develop, deliver and lead Community Engagement, fundraising activity and major events within the Darling Downs and wider South-West Region. 

This is your opportunity to build and grow an established and passionate community of LifeFlight supporters within the region who actively support our lifesaving work. This full-time position will be based at our state-of-the-art Toowoomba Aeromedical Base, the Clive Berghofer LifeFlight Centre.

About You

We are looking for someone who is ready to get stuck in with a busy calendar of fundraising and community engagement activities and events. With proven experience of acquiring and sustaining strong community relationships, you will have the skills and to engage, motivate and inspire people to be excited about opportunities with LifeFlight.

You’re organised, able to work under pressure and adaptable. Your colleagues would describe you as hardworking, a passionate leader and someone who is confident in communicating with a range of key stakeholders. Strong community connections and a good understanding of the Darling Downs and greater South- West Queensland region would be advantageous.

Relevant qualifications in fundraising, event management, customer relationship management or similar are desirable.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in managing major events, including events planning and development, securing sponsors, liaising with suppliers, coordination of prize registers, and budget management.
  • Acquisition and retention of community and business fundraising support; identifying and developing community support.
  • Capacity to maintain a rolling 12-month calendar of activities and events within the local community.
  • The ability to inspire and manage volunteers to ensure effective resource support and coverage for events and activities.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic, with a keen interest in working collaboratively as part of a team to produce successful outcomes.
  • The flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends as required – this may include travel so a Queensland Driver Licence is required
  • Strong organisational, time-management, and multi-tasking capabilities to support several events and activities at once.
  • Excellent communication skills with a confident and capable approach to public speaking, presenting, and networking.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Suite; experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and generally strong administrative skills.
