LifeFlight is a non-profit organisation which collectively represents one of Australia’s largest air medical retrieval operations. Best known for RACQ LifeFlight Rescue community helicopters and LifeFlight Retrieval Medicine, the group also operates a world-class training division and fixed-wing air ambulance service.

The Opportunity

As an Aviation Operations Coordinator you will be working in the logistical nerve centre of LifeFlight. Reporting to the Coordination Centre Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination, deployment and first point of contact for rescue aircraft tasking.

No two days will ever be the same!

You will be busy not only with organising the operational requirements of aeromedical transfers and rescue missions, but also directing medical advice requests, ensuring accurate data capture of each mission and being part of the team that coordinates LifeFlight’s core function of saving lives and serving the community.

About You

• Rotary or Fixed Wing dispatching experience
• Aviation logistics and ground handling experience
• Exceptional customer service focus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations with challenging circumstances
• Well-developed computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office programs
• Proven problem solving and decision-making skills within a dynamic environment
• Strong organisational skills coupled with the ability to prioritise
• Ability to work a rotating 12 hour roster (2 day shifts, 2 night shifts and 4 days off)
• Enjoy working autonomously as well as part of an accountable team environment
• Commitment to continuous improvement
• Aviation / emergency experience (desirable)
• Use of flight management software (desirable)
