WE ARE ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE WANT!

Connect is a well - established, locally run not - for - profit organisation, based in Sydney’s inner west. We have long provided transport services to support the aged, transport disadvantaged and those with a disability get about and about in their local community.

We are NDIS registered and looking to expand our NDIS services from February 2022, with a focus on the vibrant inner west.

People with a disability who want support to live and participate in the community will get exactly that. The support Connect will provide is based on what people ask us to do for them, and with them. This may be individual or delivered in groups.

To meet our expansion plans, we are looking for casual Disability Support Workers or independent disability support providers to join us.

AS A DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER, YOUR TYPICAL DUTIES MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Support people to get out and about in the community.
  • Support people to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible.
  • Support people to explore their interests and try new things.
  • Support people to attend to some of their daily personal care needs.

THE RIGHT PEOPLE FOR THE JOB

We are currently looking for creative, open minded, compassionate, and motivated people to join our team. We seek those with positive and energetic personalities and a commitment to providing responsive, person-centred and considerate care.

You will need to have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) as you will be supporting people with varying communication support needs.

Formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services or Welfare are not necessary but are an advantage.

  • Attractive casual hourly rates starting from $37.54 per hour (with any applicable penalties) per SCHADS awards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Have the right to work in Australia.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Full NSW Drivers License (license checks are conducted).
  • A reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • A current satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening & WWCC (or ability to obtain).
  • Completed NDIS Worker Orientation and NDIS Infection Control modules (or ability to complete).
  • Current First Aid & CPR (HLTAID003).
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (it is anticipated evidence of vaccination booster/s may be required in the near future).
