Legacy WA is a volunteer-based organisation staffed by paid employees providing information, referral and community-based welfare support, disability and youth services programs to dependents of deceased and incapacitated veterans. Geographically, Legacy WA services all of Western Australia.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for reception duties and administration. The Receptionist will report to the Business Manager.

This role would suit a recent high school graduate who holds or is working towards a Certificate of Business or someone wanting to return to the workforce. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and demonstrable organisational skills. On the job training will be provided for the right candidate.

The position is offered full-time or part-time (3+ days per week). Our office hours are 8.30 to 4.30 but can be flexible for the right candidate

Salary packaging is available.

  • Have time management and organisation skills and the ability to effectively prioritise tasks,
  • Have a proactive can-do disposition,
  • Have basic understanding of Microsoft Office suite skills,
  • Have high standards of professional and personal integrity,
  • Have attention to detail

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Presenting as the ‘face’ of Legacy WA, as the receptionist will be the first point of contact for visitors at the door or via telephone.

CORE DUTIES

  • Answer and direct calls to the appropriate person or team,
  • Take messages as required,
  • Greeting visitors
  • Collect, open and distribute mail,
  • Managing office supplies such as stationery and other office supplies, destruction bins etc
  • Performing ad-hoc administration duties at the direction of the Business Manager or when requested by Team Leaders,
  • Assist in managing camp bookings,
  • Petty cash handling,
  • Receiving and dispatching deliveries.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cert III or IV in Business (or similar), or enrolled and attending training for the award of the qualification,
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check.
  • Suitable applicants may be required to complete psychometric testing prior to employment
