About the Service

Logan Family Recovery (LFR) is a unique residential rehabilitation program which makes it possible for parents to receive support while their young children stay with them. The units are located on the site of Logan House, Chambers Flat. The program is on a quiet, rural setting. Our specialist team includes drug and alcohol and family counsellors, a treatment facilitator, a registered nurse and other allied health professionals.

About the role

We are currently looking a casual Support Worker to join our professional and qualified team at Logan Family Recovery. You will be part of an integral team and be supported by an experienced Team Leader. Your role will be to support and monitor the activities of the clients through relationship building, day-to-day care and consideration of service planning goals.

You will thrive in this opportunity to:

• Provide on shift support and supervision to the client (families) of the family residential program
• Facilitate transport, outings and client (families) support that aligns with service planning and goals
• Prioritise rapport and relationship with the clients (families) in assisting the delivery of an experience that incorporates safe practice in safe spaces

This is a casual role based in Chambers Flat – working a variety if shifts throughout the week and weekend. You will work alongside our Treatment Facilitators to provide support and guidance to our families and their children. You will have opportunities to learn more around parenting programs and gain some child safety experience.

About you

Our Support Worker team shares the passion and dedication in changing lives for the better for our clients. In that, you encourage our clients to participate in community living and take on daily tasks and responsibilities. Possessing the following skills and experience will ensure success in the role.

• Demonstrated ability to engage easily with a diverse and complex client group, particularly families with children.
• Demonstrated ability to mediate, resolve conflict and deal with behavioural issues in a respectful and non-judgmental manner.
• Demonstrated understanding of issues relating to the misuse of alcohol and other drugs and/or mental health issues, in the context of wider family and social systems

The salary range for this $32.54 to $34.90 per hour plus casual loading, applicable penalties and loadings.
