The Role

Reporting directly to Lady Gowrie Tasmania's, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and being a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the role is responsible for leading the strategic and operational direction of Lady Gowrie Tasmania's Early Learning programs, that reflect contemporary approaches to advancing children’s learning and development.

The role of General Manager Education and Care is accountable to effectively lead and manage all aspects of the Early Learning and Outside School Hours programs; including pedagogy, service management and compliance with relevant legislation.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Significant experience leading and managing Early Childhood Education and Care services, preferably in an executive or senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated capability in developing and guiding others in cultural change.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and engage with research and translate the research into sustainable practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate the curriculum and pedagogy to a range of stakeholders to facilitate engagement and partnering.
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement and measure outcomes.
  • Experience partnering with external organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with community partners to achieve a shared vision.
  • Experience and or ability in setting up and establishing new services.

Qualification, Certification and Training

  • Degree or postgraduate level qualification in early years education.
  • Ability to work within and positively advance the mission and values of Lady Gowrie Tasmania.
  • A current class C drivers’ license.
  • Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Child Related Activity).
