As an Oral Health Educator, you work in a cohesive multidisciplinary dental team. Your role is to improve the health literacy, oral health knowledge and behaviour of individuals and the community in general, through personalised health coaching to clients or engaging in group work. Subject to your education and registration, you may provide fluoride varnish treatments to clients.

You may work in a fixed location and/or LCHS outreach programs, including Smile Squad and Keeping Kids Smiling, which may be located at various community settings, including educational or care facilities.

To be successful, you will require:

  • Certificate IV in Dental assisting - qualification in Oral Health Promotion
  • Registration on the Dental Health Services Fluoride Varnish register for Certificate IV Dental Assistants (ideal)
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • A current Working with Children Check
