Purpose of the Knowledge, Communication, and Fundraising Role

We have a great opportunity for a Knowledge, Communication, and Fundraising (KCF) officer to join our team. This role is flexible enough to suit all tiers of candidates including individuals relatively new to the field or more seasoned staff looking for flexibility and the ability to help shape an organisation. You will be working with seasoned development practitioners in a community focused, professional organisation.

Our KCF lead officer will be responsible for guiding the continued development and population of the organisational Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework (MELF), supporting the CEO and teams in assuring Kyeema’s impact is being measured and communicated appropriately as well as taking that knowledge and building and executing a strategy and approach to fundraising.

As a key link in fundraising for a small and dynamic organisation you will be integral to the individual giving growth strategy and the development of new channels and systems to optimise our long-term fundraising revenue and returns on investment.

About you

You will be confident in gathering and expressing Monitoring Evaluation and Learning data and creating long-term growth and retention strategies, developing fundraising investment business cases.

You will have broad multi-channel fundraising experience and be a great communicator and team player. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our vision, have a track record in knowledge management and developing and executing successful giving acquisition and retention campaigns.

Specific activities:

  • Manage update of Kyeema’s Effectiveness Framework and gathering of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning data
  • Develop, implement and evaluate a fundraising strategy and plan to attract and retain donors and funders – particularly corporate partners and philanthropic donors
  • Develop a multi-year strategy for gift in wills and major donor programs
  • Produce regular reporting for the CEO on fundraising campaigns outcomes against targets
  • Draft and promote fundraising messages and objectives across all channels
  • In partnership with the CEO and team, prepare impact presentations and the annual report
  • Where required, work with external agencies to develop and optimise deliverables
  • Mentor Kyeema teams on fundraising activity
  • Work collaboratively with the team to optimise donor engagement
  • Look for other social media opportunities for members and implement them
  • Regularly review and update all content on the website
  • Prepare and review documents required for annual development plans and reports.

Selection Criteria

Please address each of the following points in a statement with your application.

  • Experience in Knowledge Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning or similar area of expertise
  • Experience in a fundraising management role involving growing and retaining individual donors
  • Experience in collaborating and building trust with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working in not-for-profit communications and fundraising teams and working with marginalised people
  • A strong work ethic and an ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation or equivalent
  • Lived experience and /or experience working in the international development programs or environments
  • Previous experience with Knowledge Management systems.
  • Previous experience facilitating social media channels and with website development and management
  • Excellent writing skills, and previous experience writing communication materials for different audiences
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including an ability to plan, set and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
  • The capacity and willingness to attend events or support events outside of regular office hours and on weekends

We are a Registered Charity in Australia and offer all packaging benefits available with that. Form of employment is flexible based on preferred candidate requirements.

Remuneration to be discussed with shortlisted candidates.

This is a Brisbane based role with options for flexible working. Candidates who are willing to relocate for the position must do so at their own expense.

You must have valid Australian work rights to be considered for this position - visa sponsorship is not available.
