ABOUT THE ROLE:

KTF is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a newly created position in Australia to assist with KTF’s growth and expansion in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Working with KTF’s COO, this exciting generalist role will coordinate the people function of the organisation including end to end recruitment, building out our pre-boarding and onboarding experience, employee and performance management and talent and culture initiatives. KTF is seeking an all-rounder human resources professional with mid-level experience who is as passionate about working in the NGO sector as we are. The role is a full time position on a 12-month contract with potential for extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key tasks include:

  • coordination of recruitment processes, including assisting hiring managers in Australia and PNG, conducting interviews with candidates and advising staff on decision-making processes;
  • coordination of on-boarding processes, including resources procurement, orientation and training;
  • coordination of KTF’s HRIS BambooHR;
  • coordination of KTF’s annual performance review process;
  • coordination of leave processes with support from KTF’s CFO;
  • coordination of KTF’s employee handbook and people related policies;
  • coordination of training, learning and development activities in Australia and PNG;
  • coordination of establishment of employee engagement related activities;
  • development and implementation of People & Culture strategies that support key business drivers and enables business improvement initiatives that are relevant to the current legislations and organisational strategies;
  • support internal communication to ensure employees are kept informed and motivated;
  • coaching managers and executives with performance management processes;
  • be the champion for inclusion efforts and events to ensure KTF is striving to be as diverse, inclusive and equitable as possible at all times
  • assisting staff with travel preparations;
  • support across other KTF projects as and when required.

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • tertiary human resources qualifications – a degree in human resources or similar;
  • minimum 2 years demonstrated experience in the execution of HR processes and activities;
  • excellent professional knowledge and experience of contemporary HR management, policies and practices including a good understanding of and able to interpret relevant HR legislation;
  • excellent professional knowledge of talent management and culture activities;
  • excellent communication skills – verbal and written;
  • experience with technology, various SaaS operating systems (GSuite, Slack, Dropbox) and experience overseeing HRIS Admin with BambooHR;
  • ability to provide examples of when you have managed multiple conflicting deadlines. You will have mastered the art of prioritisation;
  • ability to work cross-functionally and balance collaboration and communication with multiple stakeholders across various departments and functions;
  • ability to be tactical in a fast-paced, ever changing environment;
  • an open, available and approachable style;
  • an understanding of all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management and coaching.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Applicants must have the right to work in Australia. The role is open to applicants based in Sydney who will work from our Balmain office.
