The First Nations Project Officer role is responsible for leading and delivering key internal projects in the First Nations portfolio to promote and support Council’s commitment to empowerment of First Nations people. The role will be responsible for strengthening relationships between Council staff and the First Nation community to enable us to work together to grow cultural safety for our current and future workforce, and engage with Indigenous businesses to drive procurement opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include applying your skills and knowledge to develop, implement and evaluate strategies, policies and initiatives, strengthen communication platforms between the First Nations community, service providers and the wider community and actively participate in Community Wellbeing portfolio areas and relevant projects identified in the Community Wellbeing Department Business Plan.

This is a part time temporary role .6 EFT 3 days per week until 30 December 2023 position at the Knox Civic Centre with a range of flexible work options.
This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $92,933 - $ 101, 496 (pro rata and depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
