About the role:

As a Social Worker, you will be part of a collaborative integrated team working together to make a positive and lasting difference to children and young people through the provision of quality care in a family setting and provide regular support via telephone and face to face visits to Foster Carers.

You will monitor that the children/young people and their families are being provided with foster care services responding to their needs, as well as facilitating and encouraging support contact as agreed in the care plan.

You will ensure that the protection of children and their welfare is given the absolute priority in all activities and events, while also ensuring that the children/young person’s opinions are sought over all issues likely to affect their daily life.

About you:

You will hold a recognised professional qualification in Social Work, with overseas qualifications validated or recognised by the AASW.

You will have experience working in a child and family social work setting, as well as the ability to supervise and empower a team.

You will be knowledgeable on relevant legislation that arises from the various Child Protection Legislation and Government initiatives and Agendas across New South Wales.

You will hold a Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one, as well as a clear full New South Wales drivers’ licence.
