  • HOURS: Full-time, 38 hours week to June 30th 2029

  • AWARD: Health Services Manager Level 3 - $61.8982 per hour

ABOUT KARITANE

Karitane is a leading not-for-profit provider of parenting support services based in NSW. We support parents with children from birth to five years around sleep and settling, establishing routines, feeding and nutrition, promoting early childhood development, toddler behaviour and pre and postnatal anxiety and depression. Karitane delivers this support through residential services, parenting centres, integrated care hubs, community programs, perinatal infant mental health clinics, specialised toddler behaviour clinics and leading- edge virtual care services. We have a centralised intake system where all referrals are triaged and allocated to services that best meet clients’ needs.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

Karitane is developing a purpose-built integrated Child and family hub in Carramar, a diverse and exciting community. The Child and Family hub will be a welcoming and safe place for families to connect with each other and services to improve family functioning, parent / child relationships, increase parental confidence and capacity, improve personal wellbeing, reduce parental stress, promote optimal child development, growth and behaviour and improve connections with the community and services. The hub will offer multiple health and social care services delivered by different providers as well as ongoing group sessions. This role will play a key role in the establishment of this new and innovative Child and Family Hub in Carramar and will take the project through from co-design to implementation to day-to-day leadership in the centre.

In the initial stages (first 6 months) of the project, this role will work close with a research team to co-design the hub with the local community and stakeholders and then will work closely with senior managers in the project in the rebuild the site, so it is fit for purpose.

Once the hub is established, the Systems Navigator and Program Lead will be:

  • The main point of contact for services delivering from the hub.
  • Support the smooth day to day operations if the hub.
  • Will provide day-to-day management of Karitane staff at the hub
  • Create a warm environment for families.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

Each criteria below must addressed in your cover letter.

  • Qualifications in social sciences, community services or equivalent; or working towards.
  • Experience and understanding of co-design principles, consumer-led care and program development, coordination and implementation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting families in vulnerable circumstances and their children including families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skill; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to led community consultation in a culturally sensitive and appropriate manner.
  • Expectational stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated ability to build service partnerships to facilitate access to services for children and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated Microsoft office skills and experience using CRMs and other online platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Karitane programs provide safe, effective, family-centred quality care consistent with the organisation’s mission, philosophy, values and standards of care, and adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct.

Key element of the Systems Navigator and Program Lead: Fairfield Child and Family Hub role include:

Co-design and implementation:

  • Lead the co-design process for the hub including working with the STARS for kids’ research team, running focus groups, supporting consumer representatives.
  • Partner with the local service sector to identify opportunities to address local area service gaps and resolve issues related to service delivery.
  • Work with senior managers to support the re-build of the Carramar site.

Leadership and management:

  • Effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the centre including facilities management.
  • Maintain an environment that is welcoming and culturally safe for all children and families.
  • Mange engagement with partnering service providers delivering services and programs at the hub.
  • Identification and safe management if clinical risk / child protection / family and domestic violence through appropriate escalation pathways.
  • Participate in operations and governance group meetings.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team providing navigation, clinical and admin support at the Fairfield hub.

Service delivery:

  • Actively engage with children and families who present to the centre, facilitating timely access to supports as required.
  • Provide leadership to an inter-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder team to support families.
  • Provide trauma-informed service delivery using a strengths-based practice approach with families.
  • Facilitate the delivery of programs, services and activities in response to needs of the community.
  • Support the development of new systems to help the running of the hub.

Stakeholder relationships and community engagement:

  • Proactively seek and engage new service providers to deliver programs as determined by community need.
  • Promote awareness of the hub through face-to-face engagement and social media.
  • Participate in and organise community events and activities.
  • Lead Ongoing co-design and consumer feedback.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Various employment status is in accordance with the Named NSW (Non - Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Health Employees’ Agreement 2019. Shift times and days may be varied according to the needs of the organisation. Karitane services are provided at a number of sites within the Sydney Metropolitan Area and across NSW.

The majority of Karitane services close for approximately two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period, during which time employees are required to take leave.
