The Junction Works is a not for profit, community-based organisation serving Sydney’s south-west since 1987. With its mission of ‘creating new possibilities in people’s lives’, The Junction Works focuses on delivering creative and enriching community, youth, children’s and disability services that are designed to improve the lives of some of the community’s most vulnerable people. With a range of programs supporting people with a disability, we have multiple opportunities to join the team.

The Role

Within the growing area of South West Sydney, The Junction Works Children's Disability programs are expanding and we are seeking dedicated and motivated professionals to join the team. Our programs in this area include after school, vacation care and weekend respite programs. Working in a small but growing team, you will provide person centred support to children and young people with a disability, with a focus on engagement and achievement of goals of all of our participants.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Contribute to the daily operation of services that provide life skills development and social inclusion for children with a disability
  • Transport participants when and where necessary in order to ensure access to services/programs
  • Ensure participants maintain and develop everyday life skills and increase their independence.
  • Abide by NDIS Quality and Safeguard System and Code of Conduct
  • Demonstrate openness and responsiveness to change

Please note - to be considered for these roles you must be available between 3:00pm - 7:00pm, Monday to Friday (as well as extended availability during school holiday periods) in addition to having availability every second weekend.

Our ideal candidate possesses the following

  • An open and creative mindset to the position - new and innovative ideas are a must
  • Qualification in disability / community services
  • Experience working across a range of disability programs, including supporting children with a disability
  • Understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission
  • A passion for providing person centred service
  • A positive mindset and collaborative approach to your work
  • First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check and NSW Driver's Licence
