Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation is one of the largest Aboriginal corporations in Australia, commencing in 1974 and morphing into Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation in 1985, providing core community (think child and family, aged care respite, community patrols) and business services to all constitutents living in and around Tennant Creek, the centre of the Barkly region which covers an area of 322,713 square km and a population of only 7400.
Julalikari includes an Arts & Cultural Centre with national and internationally recognised artists, a cafe and a native plant nursery to green the community. It has a mechanical workshop and a construction team to contribute to the built environment, including new homes and community centres. It owns the funeral service. It is an investor in the new IGA supermarket, BP service station and hardware store. It's a busy corporation with capacity to offer you a varied and exciting career. Age is no barrier here.
This is an exciting new Executive level position for a newly created organisation, reporting to a newly established representative Board of Directors, who in turn report to the well established Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation's Board of Directors and deliver on the Julalikari Strategic Plan. You will be provided with a vehicle and the salary is negotiable depending on your relevant experience, qualifications and knowledge.
You will have around 30 reports and one of your first tasks after meeting the JHI Board Directors, is to establish the project, office location, resources and attract local staff.
